A Vision of Portland
Through a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, the groups of Portland are coming together to create a "Vision of Portland"--what do we see when we look at our community today, and what do we want to see in our future? We've looked at a number of surveys that have been conducted throughout the years, and we've had spirited discussions about what should and what should not go into the draft document. We believe the first draft is a good start, but we have a long way to go.
Step two was to take it to the various groups and organizations to which we belong. We've received comments from many groups and many citizens, and we are in the process of creating the second draft. It will be posted here soon. While we're doing that, please take a moment to give us your input. We will make sure it gets incorporated into the second draft.
Immediately below is a list of the categories into which the "Vision of Portland" is divided. We hope you'll take the time to comment on what you see when you look at Portland--today and tomorrow.
